Quartet’s new film model announced – how it works + thinking


Hello and welcome to the podcast, I’m Alex and in this post I want to talk about the mega game Quarry, this time to talk about a new mode that was actually revealed in the first feature story on Ignite. They actually played the game for three hours and had mixed impressions of it, including how it compared to Before Dawn and how the game was in general, but in kind of previewing and talking about their impressions, they I think they officially announced a cinematic mode where you don’t play the game at all, you just watch it as a movie and you basically get to set the boundaries, and now that they talked about that mode, they showed a little bit of that, but they did say that it’s a lot more than what they said, and they’ll talk about that as the game evolves. They’re going to talk about that later this month, so when those things happen, if it’s kind of big enough news, I’ll definitely come back and do another article, but right now all we know is that there’s literally a mode where everybody is alive and you can click on the movie mode. You can click on everyone is alive, everyone will be alive, you watch it, you know the characters will talk to each other, things will happen, the characters will all survive, and actually now that I think about it, for those who do articles, even myself, it’s like this, how do you survive the game, like what decisions do you have to make to survive, and the easiest way to do that is to watch the movie, right, because you’ll see the characters make what decisions, you’ll see where you can’t mess up or you’ll die, and by doing the movie mode you’ll find out all about that, which is kind of interesting. And then there’s a mode that’s still cinematic, but I guess another setting where everybody dies so it’s you know, deliberately killing everybody and you choose that mode and again, everybody makes bad decisions for you and then there’s a hybrid mode where you can set the way players behave with each other so you know how clumsy or belligerent they are and they basically give these people conversation and behavioral traits and you can set those yourself, so in a tense situation, character X will act a certain way and you can set those in the game and after that, they say there’s more so I think the third option is you can set the character you want and then while you’re playing, or while you’re watching the movie, you can make a decision at that point. I want the character to die, or you know, if you screw up, the character will die here, what do you want to see? Do you want to see the character live, or do you want to see the character die, that’s what I imagine, and they haven’t shown us the extras yet, and over time they will.Quartet's new film model announced - how it works + thinking

I really like this mode and as soon as I saw it I was like yeah the funny thing is I’m not going to do that I’m not going to do that I just want to play the game it’s a little thing you can do that really doesn’t hurt anybody actually, like I said it kind of helps people because it pretty much helps you in your game or you watch it on YouTube obviously or anything, it ‘s like I don’t want my character to die, so what should I do to decide well through one of the two options in the cinematic mode, I think you’re actually able to understand the whole game, so it helps the people who play the game, the people who are going to play the game, you know how many people are going to buy an article game, a super big game that’s a fan, or even a fan. You know how many people buy an article game, a super big game, they’re fans, even fans, I think they’re average gamers who buy it and then just look at it and put the controller down and don’t touch it, probably not too many people, but still, number one, it’s not really going to hurt anybody, it’s not going to hurt me, it’s not going to hurt you, for playing it. Secondly, maybe it does appeal to people because what you do… .

That’s what’s so incredible about the characters, the characters are all clichés that we’ve seen before on the screen in the ’80s and ’90s, so that’s what we’re playing now, and I would say the most fascinating thing about these games is that you’re playing it now, you’re watching it, you’re playing it, but at the same time, you’re playing it
