In this episode, we’ll be playing the new back 4 blood expansion, where you’re now tasked with defeating all the new infected and getting into their dangerous hive. The first question we always address in these articles is the development stage of the game, in this case, Terror Tunnels is now fully released and available on PC, Xbox and Playstation for $15, so what exactly is the dlc? Terror Tunnels adds a ton of new content and exciting new changes to the game, but first let’s clarify a few things, the dlc actually includes several new cosmetic items, legendary weapons, special infected, two new cleaners, and of course the new infected hive. the two new cleaners introduced in back 4 blood are Hang and Charisse. Hang’s unique ability gives him and his team 5 chances to be able to reuse any accessories they happen to use along the way. He also has 5 chances to spawn an accessory when hit by something mutated, and he has the ability to see through walls to new tunnel entrances so he can find them more easily, and all of this is certainly not something to scoff at, and I think the other new character is arguably quite good now that charisse will give your entire team 20 support hp and the chance to spawn a new item, introduced with the dlc, called temporary armor, will have the opportunity to drop any infections with armor such as swat zombies and armored infections, each piece of temporary armor will Each piece of temporary armor will absorb one critical hit, such as an explosion or slam that a special infected might cause, which essentially makes these things do zero damage to you, which could be incredibly valuable. There are a couple of new cards in terms of equipment, but I don’t want to spoil too much so I’ll just explain how to get them, first you have to get a fair amount of this new currency which is called skull totems and can only be found within the hive, then these must be carried by the player throughout the hive until you leave and exit.
These totems must be carried by the player throughout the hive until you leave and exit the hive. There are usually three totems in your hive, but a person can carry all three by fusing them on the same weapon so you don’t have to use only one melee weapon throughout the hive. Totems, you then get a number of skull totems equal to the number you can extract.
Generally, new cards and cosmetic items will cost you between one and three skulls, but of course this may change somewhat when you get into the hive of a number of different and later games. However, the hives are much more than simply skull totem farms, so even if you unlock all the new cosmetics and all the cards, you may still want to check them out from time to time, and some of the rewards include new legendary weapons, which I don’t want to spoil. But they work because they have a special trait and you can’t usually change any of their attachments.
The other one is a pistol that gives you 3 coins for every normal infected you kill and 10 coins for every special infected you kill. You’ve got all the cards and special cosmetics you want to unlock with the Skull Totem, but the Hive also has its own special twist that adds a unique twist to the game when you’re in it. This makes it not as easy to remember the absolute best paths as you would in a normal level, and they also have some special cards, like the oxygen meter you have to manage by running to the oxygen generators placed throughout the cave system, and if the meter drops too low then you’ll start suffering the consequences pretty quickly.
There are a few other variants you will encounter in these hives, but I’ll leave that for you to discover, before we move on, let’s talk about the new special infected types.
