Hey guys, we’re back with another Quarry article, it’s almost like they’re showing us more behind the scenes about how this story came about, I don’t know about you guys, but I really like it, if I’m being honest, I like watching the making of movies, especially this game, and I like what they’ve given us so far, so let’s see it. Quarry is the spiritual successor to 2015’s teen horror, and after a huge success and positive critical response, developer Supermassive Games is back in the genre with a new setting, new characters, new scary threats, and if you guys want me to do a post about it, talk about If you want me to do a post about the standard and deluxe editions, please Let me know, I’ll be getting the deluxe edition, I still need to read more about the deluxe edition, but I saw some interesting stuff, if you guys want me to do an article about the deluxe edition, please comment below, and before you forget, this is for the players, we sat down with a few members of the team to discuss their role in bringing a scenario to life.
The scene we’re looking at takes place in the prologue of The Quarry, our first introduction to the terrifying new character played by horror icon Ted Raymond The prologue starts with the most classic idea we could think of, like Brad and Janet driving through the woods at night, and I love it, we’re lost, we’re just in a geographic shift, so lost Laura and Max, they’re two would they’ve just been in a car accident and something terrible has happened and they’re kind of shaken up and then a cop pops up oh a cop comes in supposedly to help them, a pretty scary cop now you guys want to tell me what the hell you’re doing here so late at night depending on how you play it because this game doesn’t involve any Because this game doesn’t involve any online play, so I have to be competitive and Ethernet isn’t that useful I’ll probably play this game on a TV and a monitor You have to play a game like this on a bigger monitor because it’s another cinematic experience You have to play this game on a TV, I don’t want to play it on a monitor, so when I do the cheats, I don’t know that I don’t know if it’s going to matter if I record it on the TV, is it going to look any less good? I don’t know, let me know the scene below and the choices you make, the police will react differently to you, you’re not going to get to Heck, that’s Quarry, not tonight, so now that we know the scene, let’s dive into how it’s all made up, what better place to start than that? I’d love to know how they do it, I remember reading Will’s original script and we had two camp counselors who were on their way to camp and it was kind of like the trope of the couple getting into a car accident in the middle of nowhere and I guess it’s just playing with this class, I guess you could call it a situation that they’re familiar with, you know these kinds of but it’s a different direction, let’s play with these characters and are either of you any of you are hurt? No, she hit her head, barely.
I mean, I can’t even feel my butt, not my head.
I’m fine, really, we’re fine, we’re just a little shocked.
So Graham and I will agree on the final draft of the script, we’ll do it in parts and then we’ll send it out, we’ll send it back, we’ll review it, and then we’ll send it off basically all the way to Los Angeles where they can See the tools we use, including the game design on paper It must be confusing when you’re looking at it, but these guys are professionals, and if I’m honest, it’s probably not that bad, they write a lot of words on paper and then they just start preparing for the live show, which is boring. But with the development of motion capture technology, there’s a distinct lack of visual stimulation for the performers and they rely heavily on the director to help them visualize the scenes I think we’re lucky to have Will at the helm because that’s his bread and butter too, he’s a very visual thinker and I think that’s been instilled in all of our team, especially in the writing process, we’ve
