Given that Chris Redfield plays a major role in the story, in addition to other things like the Umbrella logo that appears in the trailer, it does look like the story will be more closely tied to the larger overarching narrative of the series than Resident Evil 7.
According to the game trailer in the repeated appearance of four families, we can predict that the story of Resident Evil Village will revolve around these families. These ancient families seem to be inseparable from an ancient ritual, each family seems to have mastered a special power.
