In this article we will discuss the next iteration of the resident evil series, the working title of resident evil9, which has apparently been in development for some time and there are some rumors about the development of the title. Here are all the leaked details and rumors we know so far, and before we get started it’s important to note that not all of these details are confirmed, and much of the information has come by way of leaks, rumors and insider information.
While Capcom themselves have confirmed little about resident evil9, a few details have been confirmed by different sources claiming to have insider information on the project. resident evil7 codenamed biohazard and resident evil8 codenamed village, both of which have a direction from their classic titles a very big shift in the gameplay from third person to first person, the player’s point of view.
resident evil, the next installment in the series, changed the gameplay experience from third person to first person, and Capcom is said to have gone back to a third person perspective, which makes resident evil4, as well as the recent resident evil2 and resident evil3″ remake has been warmly welcomed by fans of the series. As for the release date or development timeline, according to twitter users aesthetic players R9 has been in development since 2018 and the project development will take 6 to 7 years, which would make 2024 the most likely release window.
The following information was leaked on 4chan and some of the details were confirmed by another twitter user, but not all, from this leaked list of project goals you can see that R9 is set to be a third person view, for those fans who appreciate a first person experience I believe Capcom will add something that will allow players to switch between first and third person, similar to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5’s Grand theft Auto 5. It will have an innovative partner system, I’m not quite sure what that means exactly, but I’m guessing it will be along the lines of resident evil 5, with Chris Redfield having Shiva’s support for most of the game.
The project will also include a combination of mechanics from R2 and resident evil. This will be the final chapter that will bring to a close the story of the older characters of resident evil.
Accurate, so until Capcom comes out and confirms all these details, all we can really do is wait and see what happens, but looking at the two previous projects, namely resident evilbiohazard and resident evilvillage, I think it’s safe to say that Capcom understands the task at hand and will knock it out of the park again I think that’s what this article is going to do.
