The Pokémon X move relearner is Madam Reminder, in the house northeast of the Pokémon Center in Dendemille Town. You can get there after the sixth Gym, in Laverre City. She takes one Heart Scale per move and teaches level-up moves the Pokémon could have learned at or below its current level, including ones it skipped. The Move Deleter lives in the same house and charges nothing.

Where is the move relearner in Pokémon X?
Madam Reminder is in Dendemille Town. You reach it from Laverre City along Route 15. Route 17 leaves the town to the east, and Frost Cavern is to the north.
- Beat Valerie at the Laverre Gym for the Fairy Badge. She is the sixth Gym Leader.
- Clear Team Flare out of the Poké Ball Factory. Until you do, two Grunts block the gate to Route 15.
- Go through Laverre Gate onto Route 15, the leafy road also called Brun Way.
- Follow it east to the Dendemille Gate and walk into town.
- Find the Pokémon Center. The house just northeast of it is the one you want.

Who is in the house
Two people share the house: an old man, who is the Move Deleter, and a woman who calls herself Madam Reminder in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. She is the one who takes Heart Scales.

One Heart Scale per move
One Heart Scale buys one move, whichever move you pick. No shop in Pokémon X or Pokémon Y sells them.
If the Pokémon already knows four moves, you choose one to forget so the new move has room. An HM move can't be replaced this way. If an HM is in one of the four slots, have the Move Deleter remove it first.
Since you can't buy Heart Scales, gather a few before the trip. The fishing section further down covers the easiest way.
What Madam Reminder will teach
She can teach any move on the current species’ level-up list at a level the Pokémon has already reached. That includes moves you said no to when they came up. Charizard is a good example, because nine of its level-up moves are learned at level 1, and she can teach those at any level:
| Charizard’s moves | Can she teach it? |
|---|---|
| Flare Blitz, Heat Wave, Dragon Claw, Shadow Claw, Air Slash | Yes, at any level, because each one is on the level-1 list |
| Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen | Yes, at any level. Ember and Smokescreen also come again at levels 7 and 10 |
| Flamethrower (level 47), Fire Spin (level 56), Inferno (level 62) | Only once Charizard has reached that level |
Heat Wave shows up a second time at level 71. It’s on the level-1 list as well, so a Charizard that has never been near level 71 can still get it from her. Flare Blitz works the same way, with its second slot at level 77.
What she won’t teach
- Level-up moves above the Pokémon’s current level. A level 20 Charizard can’t get Flamethrower from her, since it comes at level 47. Teaching moves from higher levels started in Generation VII. It doesn’t work in Pokémon X and Y.
- Moves the species can only get from a TM or a move tutor. If the move is also on its level-up list, it counts, however the Pokémon first learned it.
- Moves only a pre-evolution learns. If the evolved form’s own list doesn’t have the move, she can’t teach it, even if the Pokémon used to know it.
- Moves copied with Sketch.
Egg moves and moves known at hatch
A Pokémon hatched in Generation VI or later can relearn any move it knew when it hatched. That covers Egg Moves and the level-up moves it hatched with. Eggs hatched in Generation V or earlier don’t carry this record, even after a transfer to X or Y, so those moves can’t be taught back. Some Mystery Gift Pokémon from Generation VI on also have their moves recorded, and she can teach those again too.
The Move Deleter, in the same house
The Move Deleter is free. He removes any move, including the five HM moves in X and Y: Cut, Fly, Surf, Strength and Waterfall. The one thing he won’t do is delete a Pokémon’s only move.
If you’re raising Eevee, this is where to drop Baby-Doll Eyes (learned at level 9) and Charm (level 29) before it evolves. The Espeon and Umbreon guides send you to the same house.
“This Pokémon hasn’t forgotten any moves”
That line means she has nothing to offer the Pokémon right now. Usually it already knows every move she could teach, or the moves you want come at a higher level. The move might also be TM-only or tutor-only for that species, or it might belong only to the pre-evolution. Check that last one if the Pokémon has just evolved, because the new form may not have the old move on its list at all.
Get enough Heart Scales first
The Old Rod is the easiest farm. On six beaches (Ambrette Town, Cyllage City, Shalour City, Route 8, Route 12 and Azure Bay), every Old Rod bite is a level 15 Luvdisc. Luvdisc can hold a Heart Scale, so keep fishing and catching until one turns up. The Good Rod and Super Rod on those beaches never pull up Luvdisc.
Frost Cavern also has one Heart Scale, on the river below the waterfall outside the cave. It doesn’t come back once you take it, and you need Waterfall to reach it.
Relearner, Deleter or tutor?
| Who | Where | Cost | What they do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madam Reminder | Dendemille Town, northeast of the Pokémon Center | 1 Heart Scale per move | Teaches a level-up move back to the Pokémon |
| Move Deleter | The same house | Free | Removes one move, HMs included |
| Move tutors | Other towns and routes, not this house | Depends on the tutor | Teach specific moves that aren’t on the species’ level-up list |
Is Pokémon Y different?
No. The house, both NPCs, the Heart Scale price and the Move Deleter are the same in Pokémon Y. Sun and Moon’s Move Reminder is different: it can teach moves above the Pokémon’s level. That rule doesn’t apply in X or Y.
