Fire Emblem Awakening Character Ages: Official vs Unstated

Awakening states almost no ages. Emmeryn is about 25, Nowi 1000+, Tiki 3000. Birthdays are listed. Fan charts invent the rest.

Fire Emblem Awakening does not print a year of age for most of the Shepherds. The roster lists a birthday, not a birth year. Fan charts that give everyone 18 or 19 are guesses. This page keeps the official lines, marks the two royal estimates that come from extra art, and leaves the rest unstated. Join chapters and starting classes sit on characters.

Video: official years, the two-year skip, and which ages the game never writes.
Fire Emblem Awakening official character ages: Emmeryn about 25, Nowi over 1000, Tiki 3000, Aversa eight years older than Chrom
The years the game actually speaks. Chrom and Lissa do not get a number here.

What is official

Chapter 6, Chrom talking to Robin at night: the last exalt died 15 years ago, and that death came "before her 10th year." Emmeryn is about 24 or 25 when the story opens. After Chapter 11 the narrator skips ahead: "But then, two years later…" Anyone who was already in the army is two years older from Chapter 12 on.

Nowi's C support with Henry repeats the thousand: "I'm an adult woman who's more than a thousand years older than you!" The barracks line is the one that sticks. Tiki's bio never writes the digits; the 3,000 is her own level-up quip, and her bio only says she has "lived since days of yore" and was friends with the Hero-King.

Chrom, Lissa, and the extra art

Fire Emblem Awakening two-year time skip after Chapter 11, Lucina newly born, then more than 10 years hence
Two years of peace, a newborn Lucina, then her future self from more than ten years on.

The game never says "Chrom is 19" or "Lissa is 15." Those numbers are a common wiki estimate. They come from extra artwork of the three royal children printed with the Nintendo Dream comics: Chrom about six years younger than Emmeryn, Lissa about ten years younger than Emmeryn. Stack that on the Chapter 6 math and you get Chrom about 19 and Lissa about 15 before the skip, 21 and 17 after it.

Treat that as an estimate, not a status-screen value. Lissa's barracks bio only calls her Chrom's tomboyish little sister. Chrom's only calls him prince and captain.

Lucina is born in that two-year gap. Chapter 12 still calls her newly born. The Lucina who joins in Chapter 13 is the daughter from a future more than ten years later. The European script is often quoted as "more than 15 years." This page follows the North American line.

Nowi, Tiki, and Nah

Nowi over 1000 years old and Tiki 3000 in Fire Emblem Awakening, manaketes whose looks do not match the years
Nowi's bio states 1,000+. Tiki's 3,000 is a level-up line. Nah has no year.

Manaketes are the only playable people with round, huge years. Nowi looks like a child in the barracks art and still writes "over 1,000 years old and counting." Tiki looks young too and talks about 3,000 as if it were a mild inconvenience on a level-up.

Nah's help text says she is "unusually together for her age." That is not a number. Her barracks bio never gives one. She can wait "a thousand years" in an ending line if Robin is her spouse; that is patience, not her current age.

Relative ages with no year

Aversa eight years older than Chrom, Donnel younger than Lissa, Ricken treated as a child in Fire Emblem Awakening
Aversa names eight years. Donnel is younger than Lissa. Ricken has no year.

Aversa's B support with female Robin is the only place a Shepherd names a gap in years versus Chrom. Robin needles her as a dozen years older. Aversa snaps back: eight. Lists that print "Aversa is 27" are adding that eight to Chrom's estimated 19. The eight is official. The 27 is not.

Lissa tells Donnel he is one of the few allies younger than she is. That is as far as it goes: younger than Lissa, no year. Ricken's bio says he looks and acts like a child and hates being treated as less than an equal. Cordelia's C support has him answering "I'm not a child, you know." Still no year.

Gregor's bio says years of mercenary work hardened him, "mostly," and that he winces when people harp on about his age. Basilio and Flavia read older than Chrom. None of those three get a number.

The children

Fire Emblem Awakening children Lucina, Owain, and Morgan: future units with no stated year of age
Lucina joins in Chapter 13. The others join from their paralogues. None of the bios list a year.

Every child except Lucina arrives from a paralogue after a parent marries. The marriage planner is for the pairing. The chapters list is for the unlock. Ages are not in either place.

Their bios call them "future son" or "future daughter" and stop there. They look like young adults because they grew up in a ruined future, then stepped back. Laurent is the one wrinkle: in a father support he is already older than Lucina, because "travel among eras is imprecise." Lucina had been in the present about two years; he had been here nearly five, so he aged three years more than she did after the jump. That still is not a birth year.

Morgan remembers even less than the others and does not know "which future" they came from. Robin's own year is unstated; you only pick a birthday on the New Game screens. Asset and Flaw, not age, are what change Robin's stats on the asset and flaw page.

Birthdays

The last line of a barracks bio is the birthday, built as "Born on [month] [day]." Robin is the exception: you type that date when you make the file. If the 3DS clock matches a unit's day, the barracks flags a birthday event.

Everyone else

Frederick, Sully, Virion, Stahl, Vaike, Miriel, Sumia, Kellam, Lon'qu, Maribelle, Panne, Gaius, Cordelia, Gregor, Libra, Tharja, Olivia, Cherche, Henry, Say'ri, Anna, Basilio, Flavia, Gangrel, Walhart, Yen'fay, Priam, and Robin have no official year. Child units other than the Lucina and Laurent notes above are the same. If a list online fills those names with 18, 21, or 35, it did not come from the barracks or the story.

The Japanese setting book Knights of Iris and the later Dark Horse art book collect profiles and concept art. They are not a substitute for a year the game never wrote. Classes and skills for the same roster are on classes and skills.
