Gardevoir Mega Stone in Pokémon X: Café Soleil After the Hall of Fame

In Pokémon X and Y, Gardevoirite comes from Café Soleil in Lumiose City, after the Hall of Fame. Diantha trades a Ralts that holds it. Legends: Z-A sells it for Mega Shards instead.

In Pokémon X and Y, Gardevoirite is a trade, not a find. After you enter the Hall of Fame, go to Café Soleil on South Boulevard in Lumiose City. Champion Diantha will offer to trade a Ralts holding Gardevoirite for any one of your Pokémon. Take the stone off that Ralts and give it to any Gardevoir. Then Mega Evolve it in battle with your Mega Ring. It isn’t a night sparkle, and the Stone Emporium doesn’t sell it. Legends: Z-A is a different game and sells the stone for 240 Mega Shards.

The only in-game copy of Gardevoirite in X and Y comes from this trade.

This guide covers Pokémon X and Pokémon Y on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS, up to the final update, version 1.5. The steps are the same in both games. If you’re playing Legends: Z-A on Switch, skip to where Gardevoirite is in other games.

Where Gardevoirite is in Pokémon X and Y

X and Y have one copy of Gardevoirite, and it’s held by Diantha’s Ralts at Café Soleil. The café is on South Boulevard in the Bleu District of Lumiose City. It’s the same building where you first see Diantha and Lysandre talking early in the game, but the trade only starts after you’ve entered the Hall of Fame.

No shop in Kalos sells Gardevoirite, and it doesn’t come from the ground, a Friend Safari or a sparkle.

How to get to Café Soleil

  1. Finish the main story: beat Champion Diantha and enter the Hall of Fame. She doesn’t come back to the café before that.
  2. Fly to Lumiose City. On the map, head to South Boulevard in the Bleu District.
  3. Walk into Café Soleil and talk to Diantha. She offers the trade.

Before the Hall of Fame, Diantha won’t offer this trade, even though you may have met her in the café earlier in the story. Come back after you enter the Hall of Fame.

Why the 8 PM sparkle hunt won’t find it

Most Mega Stones in X and Y are hidden sparkles. They only appear after your rival is beaten in Kiloude City, Professor Sycamore upgrades your Mega Ring at the Anistar City sundial, and only between 8:00 and 8:59 PM on the 3DS clock. Gardevoirite is not one of them. You can walk every route at 8 PM and still never find it, because it was never on the ground.

What the trade gives you

When you talk to Diantha after the Hall of Fame, she offers her Ralts and asks for one of your Pokémon in return. You can give her any Pokémon in your party.

The Ralts you receive. Its Special Attack and Speed IVs are 31, and the other four are 20.

You can raise the Ralts normally: it evolves into Kirlia at level 20, and Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir at level 30. With a Modest nature and 31 Special Attack, it suits Mega Gardevoir, which is a special attacker.

Diantha’s Ralts is female, so it can never become Gallade. More on that below.

Can you take the stone off the Ralts?

Yes. The stone is a normal held item, so take it off the Ralts and give it to any Gardevoir you own. Gardevoirite only works on Gardevoir, so the stone won’t do anything on a Ralts or Kirlia that holds it.

I said no, or I only have one Pokémon

Saying no doesn’t lose the stone. Diantha stays at Café Soleil, so leave, then talk to her again and accept the trade.

The trade needs at least two Pokémon in your party: one to give and one to keep. If you have only one, keep that Pokémon in your party and add a second one: catch a Pokémon, or take one from a box. Then go back to the café.

  • If Diantha isn’t in the café, check that you have entered the Hall of Fame, and that you’re in Café Soleil on South Boulevard, not another café on the same street.
  • If you already traded, that was your only chance: the trade happens once per save. Diantha won’t offer a second stone.
  • If you want a second copy, X and Y have no other in-game source. The Global Trade System and Wonder Trade were shut down with Nintendo Network on April 8, 2024, so the only option left is local wireless from another save, and only if that save already has a stone.

How to Mega Evolve Gardevoir

  1. Give Gardevoirite to a Gardevoir and make sure it’s in your party.
  2. Make sure you have the Mega Ring. You get it from Korrina at the top of the Tower of Mastery, after the Rumble Badge, so it’s already yours by the time you reach Café Soleil. There’s nothing to equip: the Mega Evolution option appears in battle.
  3. In battle, choose the Mega Evolution button before you pick a move. The Mega Evolution happens that turn.
  4. Only one Pokémon per battle can Mega Evolve. Once Gardevoir has evolved, the other Pokémon can’t.

Gardevoir has to hold the stone, not the Ralts. After the trade, you can use your own Gardevoir and leave the Ralts in the box.

Mega Gardevoir stats and Pixilate

Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir 3D models from Pokémon X and Y
Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir, as the game models them.

Mega Gardevoir keeps Psychic and Fairy typing, and it gets one ability: Pixilate. Pixilate changes Normal-type moves into Fairy-type moves, and in Generation VI those converted moves get a 30% power boost. Hyper Voice (base power 90) is a good showcase, because it’s Normal-type before Pixilate. Gardevoir can’t learn it in X and Y, so it has to come from the move tutor in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire and be traded over.

Gardevoir’s regular abilities are Synchronize and Trace. Its hidden ability is Telepathy. Mega Gardevoir always has Pixilate, in every slot.

It is not a sparkle, a shop stone or Galladite

  • The Stone Emporium doesn’t sell it, and neither does any other shop in X or Y.
  • It isn’t in route grass or among the 8 PM sparkles. It only comes from Café Soleil.
  • Galladite isn’t in X or Y. The Gallade stone was introduced in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, so Mega Gallade doesn’t exist in this game.

Can you get Mega Gallade in X and Y?

No. Mega Gallade doesn’t exist in X or Y. The Gallade you can get here is the regular evolution: a male Kirlia evolves into Gallade when you use a Dawn Stone on it. Holding the stone does nothing. Diantha’s Ralts is female, and Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir, not Gallade, so the trade can’t give you a Gallade.

Catching your own Ralts before the Hall of Fame

You can catch your own Ralts on Route 4, in the yellow and red flower patches. It’s about 5% of flower encounters, and it appears at level 8. Ralts isn’t in the regular grass. Catching one doesn’t give you Gardevoirite, but you can raise it to Gardevoir while you wait for the trade.

In the Central Kalos Pokédex, the chain is #064 Ralts, #065 Kirlia, #066 Gardevoir and #067 Gallade. These numbers are for that regional list only.

Legends: Z-AQuasartico Inc.240 Mega Shards after Main Mission 24

In Legends: Z-A, Gardevoirite is bought from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards after Main Mission 24, and you can buy it only once per save. The Mystery Gift Ralts that came with it ended on February 28, 2026, so it can’t be redeemed now. The Stone Emporium doesn’t sell it. Pokémon X and Y have no Quasartico shop, so that route doesn’t exist in this game.

FAQ

Is Gardevoirite postgame in Pokémon X?

Yes. The trade only appears after you enter the Hall of Fame.

Do I have to beat the Elite Four first?

Yes. You need to be the Champion, and Diantha only appears in Café Soleil after the Hall of Fame.

What if I said no to Diantha’s trade?

She stays at Café Soleil. Talk to her again and accept the trade, as long as you have two Pokémon in your party.

Can I put Gardevoirite on a Gardevoir I caught myself?

Yes. Take it off the Ralts, then give it to any Gardevoir. You don’t need the Ralts after the trade.

Is there a Gallade Mega Stone in X and Y?

No. Galladite isn’t in X or Y, so there’s no Mega Gallade.

How do I get Gardevoirite in Legends: Z-A?

Buy it from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards after Main Mission 24. You can buy it only once per save. This is a different game from Pokémon X and Y.

Why can’t I Mega Evolve even with the stone?

Check three things: the stone is on Gardevoir (not the Ralts), you have the Mega Ring from Korrina, and you pick Mega Evolution before the move in battle. Only one Pokémon per battle can Mega Evolve.
