In Pokémon Moon, Eevee is on Akala Island, and the surest way to get one is the free Egg from the Pokémon Nursery at Paniola Ranch. Talk to the lady inside the Nursery on your first visit and she gives you an Egg that hatches into a Lv. 1 Eevee. Wild Eevee live in the tall grass on Route 4 (Lv. 11–14) and Route 6 (Lv. 14–17). On both routes Eevee is 5% of grass encounters, day or night, so expect around 20 battles per Eevee on average. Pokémon Sun has the same Egg, the same routes and the same rates.
This guide covers Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS, with or without updates. Eevee isn't a version exclusive. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon get a short note at the end.

| Where | How | Eevee | Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paniola Ranch Nursery | Gift Egg (one) | Guaranteed | 1 (hatched) |
| Route 4 | Tall grass | 5% | 11–14 |
| Route 6 | Tall grass | 5% | 14–17 |
The Nursery Egg and Route 4 are open as soon as you reach Akala. Route 6 opens later: a Sudowoodo blocks the way until you've cleared Lana's trial at Brooklet Hill.
The free Eevee Egg at Paniola Ranch

- From Heahea City, walk north up Route 4 to Paniola Town.
- Leave Paniola Town by its north exit into Paniola Ranch.
- Follow the road on the east side of the ranch to the barn with the red roof and the silo. That's the Pokémon Nursery.
- Go inside and talk to the lady. On your first visit she offers you one of the Eggs found at the Nursery. Say yes.
- Keep the Egg in your party and walk. It hatches after about 9,000 steps into a Lv. 1 Eevee, or about half that with a Flame Body or Magma Armor Pokémon in your party.
The gift is one Egg per save file, but you can breed more Eevee at the same Nursery (see below). An Eevee from the Egg has the usual 1-in-8 chance of being female.
Wild Eevee on Route 4 and Route 6

Route 4 runs north from Heahea City to Paniola Town and has six patches of tall grass. Route 6 runs south from Paniola Town, past the entrance to Royal Avenue, and has three; you can walk it once Lana's trial is done and the Sudowoodo has moved. Eevee is in every one of them at 5%, both day and night. That includes the two southern Route 6 patches, where Pa'u Style Oricorio replaces Mudbray.
| Pokémon | Day | Night |
|---|---|---|
| Lillipup | 30% | 30% |
| Mudbray (Oricorio in two Route 6 patches) | 20% | 20% |
| Pikipek | 15% | 25% |
| Grubbin | 10% | 10% |
| Yungoos / Alolan Rattata | 10% (Yungoos) | 10% (Alolan Rattata) |
| Igglybuff | 10% | — |
| Eevee | 5% | 5% |
Route 4 encounters are Lv. 11–14 and Route 6 encounters are Lv. 14–17, Eevee included. A wild Eevee's abilities are Run Away or Adaptability, and it holds no item. Its catch rate is 45, the same as many fully evolved Pokémon, so throw a Quick Ball on the first turn, or bring its HP down and use Great Balls.
Why you can't find Eevee

- It's just the 5%. One Eevee every 20 encounters is the average, and an unlucky run can take 50 or more. Your game isn't broken. If you'd rather not grind, get the Nursery Egg.
- You're in the Paniola Ranch grass. The ranch's tall grass has Lillipup, Mudbray, Tauros and Miltank, never Eevee. Walk back south to Route 4 or Route 6.
- You're fighting an ambush. Pokémon that jump out of rustling grass, dust clouds or berry piles are separate encounters. Eevee only appears from walking in the tall grass.
- You're still on Melemele. Eevee isn't on Melemele at all. Take the boat to Akala first.
- You're playing Sun. That's fine. Eevee is in both games, in the same places.
SOS: Eevee can call Espeon or Umbreon

A wild Eevee on Route 4 or Route 6 can call for help. Most of its allies are other Eevee, but 3% of them are Espeon during the day and Umbreon at night:
| Time in the game | Ally | Chance per answered call |
|---|---|---|
| Day | Espeon | 3% |
| Night | Umbreon | 3% |
| Day or night | Eevee | 97% |
Pokémon Moon runs its own clock 12 hours apart from the 3DS system clock. In Moon, in-game day falls from about 18:00 to 06:00 on your 3DS, and in-game night from about 06:00 to 18:00. In Sun the game's time matches your 3DS. If you're not sure, look at the sky in the game. Keep an Eevee on the field, since only Eevee calls these allies, and don't give it a status condition, which stops it calling. An Adrenaline Orb makes calls more likely; Poké Marts sell it for ₽300 once you've cleared three trials. Long SOS chains also raise the chance of Eevee's Hidden Ability, Anticipation. For every evolution route, see After you have Eevee.
Getting a female Eevee

Eevee is 87.5% male and 12.5% female, and that applies to the gift Egg too. Two ways to improve the odds:
- Cute Charm lead. Put a male Pokémon with the Cute Charm ability first in your party. Each wild Pokémon then has a 2-in-3 chance of being forced to the opposite gender; the rest roll normally. With a male lead, that makes about 7 in 10 wild Eevee female. Igglybuff lives in the same Route 4 and Route 6 grass by day. Half of them have Cute Charm, but only a quarter are male, so check both on the summary screen.
- Breed. Leave any Eevee with a Ditto at the Paniola Ranch Nursery and collect Eggs. Ditto is in the grass on Mount Hokulani, on Ula'ula Island, at 10% and Lv. 25–28. Each Egg is a fresh 1-in-8 roll for a female, so hatch until you get one.
After you have Eevee

| Evolution | How |
|---|---|
| Vaporeon | Water Stone |
| Jolteon | Thunder Stone |
| Flareon | Fire Stone |
| Espeon | Level up with high friendship during the day |
| Umbreon | Level up with high friendship at night |
| Sylveon | Level up knowing a Fairy-type move, with at least two hearts of affection |
| Leafeon | Level up near the Moss Rock in Lush Jungle |
| Glaceon | Level up near the Ice Rock on Mount Lanakila |
If Eevee meets more than one level-up condition at once, the game checks them in this order: Leafeon or Glaceon near their rock first, then Sylveon, then Espeon or Umbreon. So a high-friendship Eevee that knows a Fairy move and has two hearts becomes Sylveon, not Espeon or Umbreon. To get Espeon or Umbreon instead, make Eevee forget its Fairy moves first.
See evolution stones in Sun and Moon for where to find each stone, and how to get Sylveon for the Fairy move and Pokémon Refresh hearts. Eevee is #123 in the Alola Pokédex, and its evolutions are #124–#131.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon also have Eevee on Route 4 and Route 6 and the same Nursery Egg at Paniola Ranch. The rates in this guide are for Sun and Moon. See Pokémon Sun vs Ultra Sun for the other differences.
