Take the tokens to the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village for rewards at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 tokens. Most of the outdoor ones only appear at night, so carry the Sun’s Song.

House of Skulltula rewards

The House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village in Ocarina of Time 3D
The House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village. The cursed family inside rewards you at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 tokens.

The family in the House of Skulltula was cursed into spiders. The five children turn back one by one at 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 tokens: “The curse has been broken! Thank you! Here’s a reward for you!” The father is the last; at 100 tokens he says: “Since you’ve destroyed 100 Spiders of the Curse, the curse on me has been broken.” There is nothing new at 60, 70, 80 or 90.

Gold Skulltula token rewards
TokensReward
10Adult’s Wallet (holds 200 Rupees)
20Shard of Agony: “This unique crystal resonates when brought near something secret or hidden.”
30Giant’s Wallet (holds 500 Rupees)
40Bombchus (10)
50Piece of Heart
100Huge Rupee: “This Rupee is worth a whopping 200 Rupees!”

The 10 and 30 token rewards are the useful ones: the bigger wallets let you buy the last Magic Beans and the expensive shop items. Near hidden grottos and other secrets, the Shard of Agony makes a sound and its icon on the screen flashes: “If you hear it, something may be hidden nearby.”

How to find and collect Gold Skulltulas

  • Gold Skulltulas make a scratching sound when you are close.
  • Most outdoor ones only appear at night. Dungeon ones are there at any time.
  • Some are only there for young Link, others only for adult Link, and some are only reachable at one age. The tables below say which when it matters.
  • On walls, hit them with the sword, or reach high ones with the Boomerang, Hookshot or arrows. Then grab the token; the Boomerang and Hookshot can also pull a token back to you.
  • Roll into the tree as young Link to knock the Gold Skulltula out.
  • Break crates and bomb cracked walls to find the hidden ones.
  • Empty a bottle of bugs onto soft soil as young Link. See Magic Bean locations for all the soft soil spots.

When you collect its token, the game says: “You destroyed a Gold Skulltula. You got a token proving you destroyed it!” Your token count is on the Gear subscreen. On the Map subscreen, a Skulltula icon next to an area name means there are no more spiders there.

Master Quest

Master Quest rearranges the dungeons and moves many of their Gold Skulltulas, so the dungeon tables above are for the normal game only. Switch the map to Master Quest to see them. The 56 outside the dungeons stay at the same landmarks, but the world is mirrored, so swap left and right in the directions above.

If a Gold Skulltula is missing

  • If it is daytime, play the Sun’s Song and look again.
  • If you are the wrong age, check the table for that area.
  • A Gold Skulltula whose token you have already collected does not come back. Check the Map subscreen: an area with a Skulltula icon next to its name is finished.
  • Some need an item you may not have yet: the Boomerang, Hookshot, bombs, the Megaton Hammer or the Iron Boots. Come back later.
  • If it is still missing, roll into trees, break crates and empty bugs onto soft soil.
